Delegation from the National Microbial Resource Center of China attends the 22nd ACM Meeting
The 22nd meeting of the Asian Consortium for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Microbial Resources (ACM) was held in Jeonju, South Korea from May 21 to 23, hosted by the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of Korea.
A delegation from the National Microbial Resource Center, led by Researcher Wei Hailei from the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, attended the conference.
Representatives from various countries engaged in in-depth discussions on the current status and future prospects of microbial resource preservation, management of microbial preservation technologies, and application of microbiomes in agriculture. Officials from the Chinese Agricultural Culture Collection of China and the China General Microbiological Culture Collection delivered special keynote speech.
Following the conference, Researcher Wei Hailei led the delegation to visit the Korean Agricultural Culture Collection and the Korean Collection for Type Cultures. During these visits, they engaged in extensive exchanges on resource collection, standardization, and sharing mechanisms.
This visit facilitated a better understanding of the status of microbial resource conservation and utilization across Asian countries, strengthened ties between major microbial resource preservation and research institutions in Asia, and promoted international exchange and cooperation in microbial resource conservation and sustainable use by the National Microbial Resource Center.
